Industrial Manipulators for Workpiece Handling and Assembly

Compare rigid-arm and cable manipulators by mounting, radius, vertical range and end-tool needs. Review pneumatic and electric Easytech configurations.

Industrial manipulators support a workpiece through a specified end tool and working envelope. Choose the grip and movement first, then the arm, mounting and supply. The tool’s own weight and centre-of-gravity offset belong in the application review.

Filters include documented loads and overlapping conditional ranges. A range does not guarantee its upper value for every workpiece. Check material, seal, orientation and complete configuration.

These 100 kg configurations show why a shared maximum radius is insufficient. The inner radius, mounting and highest manipulator position differ. Plot the pickup and placement against the actual envelope, including space above machines and beneath overhead supports.

SAC-RS models describe hooks, grippers or vacuum pads designed for the workpiece. Compare whether a cable arrangement provides the control you need at placement or whether the task needs a reviewed rigid-arm/tool combination.

Is the quoted arm a complete custom handling system?

Only when the quotation identifies the tool, support, utilities, movement and documents included. An arm-only comparison omits major integration items.

Can the tool weight be ignored if the part is under the load rating?

No. Include the tool and offset in the assessment of the complete arrangement.

Prepare a comparable quotation

Provide the part range and grip restrictions, tool concept if available, centre of gravity, pickup/placement coordinates, orientation change, fixtures, site layout and utilities. Define required placement and cycle performance as acceptance items.
