Pneumatic Industrial Manipulators

Specify a pneumatic industrial manipulator by workpiece, gripper and handling sequence. Review air supply, reach and mounting as one workstation configuration.

Specify the load and tool before the air supply

A pneumatic manipulator proposal must define the workpiece, end effector, reach, mounting and controls. The available compressed-air supply is an integration input, not proof that any pneumatic arm can handle the task.

What distinguishes the proposed configuration

Item

Buyer check

Arm arrangement

Rigid-arm or other documented structure, working envelope and mounting.

End tool

Grip position, contact restrictions, tool weight and centre-of-gravity offset.

Motion

Lift, reach, rotation and final placement needed for the workpiece.

Supply

Pressure/flow and supply conditions specified for the selected assembly.

Controls and retention

Documented operating and supply-loss behaviour for that configuration.

Compare a representative cycle

Provide minimum and maximum workpieces, the full movement path and the most constrained placement. Check operator access and visibility with the actual proposed tool. Quote a performance requirement as an acceptance item when the model documents do not state it.

Further questions for your purchasing review

Which customization choices affect the manipulator price?

Custom grippers, arm reach, mounting, turning functions, controls and application testing are major cost factors.

Include the end tool, workpiece offset and fixture approach when checking the envelope. A stated radius does not remove a minimum-radius restriction or provide access through an obstruction.

Load a fixture

Entry direction, clearance, orientation and final support.

Turn a reel

Core/outer grip, turn angle and final shaft or cradle position.

Move a drum

Grip location, lid/rim condition and whether pouring is required.
