A shared station for bags and cartons

Plan a shared bag and carton handling station. Review packaging surfaces, suction-head changes, lift heights and the work cycle using an illustrative layout.

Plan a shared bag and carton station

This is a planning example, not a completed customer installation or a claimed performance result. Use it to build the requirement sheet for your own workstation.

Stage

Decision and deliverable

Package set

List filled bag/carton formats, weights, surfaces, seams and closures.

Head selection

Test the approved head/source combination for each format; identify any head change.

Working envelope

Check the bottom of the pallet, deepest row, highest stack and operator reach.

Support and utilities

Define jib/rail coverage, vacuum-source location, hose path and utility connection.

Acceptance

Record the approved package/head combinations and the full transfer cycle for each.

Prepare the project review

Send a layout, representative workpiece details and the required movements. Identify existing equipment that must be retained, available utilities and the destination. The final proposal must name the selected configuration, interfaces, operating conditions and agreed acceptance scope.

Example for requirement planning: a 50 kg filled permeable sack needs a configuration assessed for that leakage condition. A 50 kg sealed-surface rating alone is insufficient. A carton of the same mass can need a different head footprint and packaging-strength review.

Package record

Define before acceptance

Bag variant

Filled dimensions, material, seams, closure and approved contact area.

Carton variant

Loaded dimensions, board/closure condition and permitted pickup face.

Selected head

Identification, connection, changeover and the applicable conditions.

Pallet extremes

Bottom/near/far pickup and highest placement within the working envelope.

Complete cycle

Grip, lift, transfer, placement, release and any head change.

List which variants are approved for the proposed configuration. “Bags and boxes” is not a test result for every package used at the site.

Type A — Single-Hand Control Handle — Type A has a 45 kg maximum compatible bag-load condition; include the handle when checking the complete station.
